to have my weekly bloodwork done a nurse said"I have a young Leukemia patient who is taking some Papaya Leaf Extract and it is raising his platelet level".I ordered the Extract off of Amazon.Started taking 30cc a day.My Platelet level has gone from 76 to 114.This has been since March 2011.My levels stay in the 100's.Papaya Leaf Extract is a known treatment for Dengue Fever and is known to elevate Platelet levels. This has been a miracle for me.I thought I was doomed to IV'S and too expensive meds for treatment.I'm now going for labwork once a month nd see DR every 4 months.I pray it will work for all who try it!

It has to be either :
1.) stimulating the platelet production,
2.) changing the platelets,
3.) changing the anybodies so they are not attaching onto the platelet,
or
4.) Inhibiting the liver from destroying the platelets?

I was diagnose with ITP in the first week of June 2011. My first treatment is Dexamethasone and my platelets went from 30 to 124 in the first 2 weeks but there been decreasing for the last two weeks from 124 to 80 and yesterday 54. Im avoiding the use of another corticosteroid for the moment and try something more natural.
I will give an update of my results later.
It would be great if any of you try this or will do it in the future get back here to this post and tell us your experience.

We ordered online at herbalpapaya.com and we are using the extract capsules and tea together for about 3 months. They have been hugely effective together.

you say using extract capsules and tea together has been hugely effective.Could you possible post some, "before and after" platelet numbers so we can all see these good results.
My own numbers are still falling so would like to see these good numbers posted. Now on weekly blood tests and off to see Haematologist Wed this coming week.
Thanks
Benny.

wishing you good luck with the Papaya Extract, and I will watch out for your results. I am just coming off 40mg of Prednisone and experiencing all the fun stuff.

I was diagnosed with I.T.P. May 2010. I have IVIG nearly every 5 weeks. It's terrible!
I plan to order Papaya Leaf Extract. Do you take the papaya pills along with the papaya leaf extract? I hope it will work.
Thanks for updates

I had IVIG last Tuesday. My platelets were -10 as they are after 5 weeks. I felt I should wait a few days prior to starting the Papaya left extract.
Do the pills work as well as the extract? Which pills are you taking?
I'm so glad to hear your platelets are in the 120's. That is wonderful.
I am looking forward to my platelets going up to 100's and holding. Can't wait to get off the IVIG and all the terrible meds.
Please keep us informed on your platelet count. Thank you.

If you read through all of page 2 of this thread a couple of people talk about how much they are taking and whether they are taking capsules or liquid. I think you'll find what your looking for there.

How much water or liquid did you use when using the papaya leaf extract? Did you use 2 tbls at one time? How much many oz of liquid? How many times per day? What is 30cc equal to in teaspoons? What can I use for a measurement to equal 30cc?
Thank you.
