I hope your Dr. keeps you but if he doesn't, there are other fish in the sea. They have to sometimes earn gray hair along with the money, that's the job! You are a challenge but you did it once, they can get you through it again.

Kelirae24 wrote: Well guys after a long and trying pregnancy I am being induced next week because they don't want to play chicken with my platelets any longer as they put it. I've had a blood infection due to a picc line getting infected where my platelets hit 2, I got another infection from a picc line that thankfully didn't hit the blood with a count of 3. I've hit 92 and 84 once each which was exciting because At least I know I can still do it with ivig. This will be my last baby for sure it's too risky and I need to be here for my angels. I feel so lucky to even have the privilege to be a mother with how bad my itp has been for years. Wish me luck and ps it's another boy I just love boys their awesome!
So exciting!! I'm very happy to hear that you are doing relatively well and having another boy. (I've got three of them and have to agree that they are great). Congratulations on making it through the pregnancy. I still remember the constant struggle of dealing with ever decreasing counts (my third trimesters were always horrible); it's great that IVIg still gets you into a safe range and (hopefully) through the delivery.
Update us with some pictures of the little one after it's all said and done. Good luck!

Kelirae24 wrote: After a 24 hour labor no epidural because of a hematologist that wouldn't give me a second dose of ivig So I went from 88 to 64 so I had to give birth unmedicated which is easily the hardest most painful thing I've ever done followed by a hemmorage were I lost a lot of blood but thanks to these wonderful ob drs who had all meds on deck they stopped it. platelets haven't gone below 55 since and we should get to go home tomorrow he is beautiful healthy and his platelets are normal. I feel extremely lucky that I got to have my two boys after years of drs telling me my body couldn't do it because of my platelets while I won't be pushing it again I couldn't be happier right now and my husband will be getting a vasectomy lol
Congratulations Kelirae! Wonderful news and welcome to little Braxden Beau! We will keep an eye out for a picture. I ended up having all three of my boys all natural so that we didn't have to mess with trying to get my counts up high enough for an epidural. I can't really compare, since I did them all that way, but I think the recovery is AWESOME. You've already done the hard work and felt every minute of it, so it's all endorphins as you recover and feel that rush of having done something so great. I was up and walking around almost right away (thankfully, because my ITP sent all of my babies to the NICU because they got my antibodies). Exciting that your baby managed to avoid NICU jail! Congratulations again
