Well i'm stephanie,im 14.I found out i had itp when i was 2.Well really,my parents found out.I had peticha(sorry for the spelling) all over my legs.We went to the hospital got some blood test done and they figured it was itp.The did a bonemarow thing, thinking it was lukemia.Well anyways,i was diganosed with itp.My platelet count was 3000 at the time. At first they gave me the RX treatment and i had some bad reactions, and i am alergic to it.Then they gave me the ivig.Platlets went up for about a week and then my nose starting bleeding and mom and i were baack in the hospital, gave us the ivig again and we had this deja vu for about 4 YEARS! Until my docotr decided that he was going to get me ready for me to get my spleen removed,i went it tht day to get my blood test and my platlets were still up at 200k,which is what they were a month before i was supposed to get the surgery. So after that day i was in remisson for about ten years. Now i am 14 and a couple weeks ago had a break down,i fell on ice and starting bruising everywhere. I really don't know whats going on.Mu parents always told me that i had itp and to be careful when i do my sports(i dance, and play soccor)but i was young when i went through all the treatments so my last breakdown was scary for me.Im glad im no alone though.
