We are going to UT and Colo for vacation and I am concerned about whether or not the high altitude will affect my 14 yr old who has ITP. doctor said not to worry - but wondered if anyone has experienced problems. Any feedback would be most appreciated.
The only item to note, is that at those altitudes in the west, the humidity level can be down to 10% or less. This dry air leads to everyone, ITP or non who is coming from a more humid environment is more likely to have nose bleeds. I keep AYR nasal saline gel and a few q-tips in my travel bag in case I notice that my sinuses are drying out I can use it to keep them moist.
