My now 4 year old Daughter was diagnosed end of march 2010 w ITP. She then was at the hospital in November and now last week with low platelets. Could this be chronic? Anyone have a child that had more than three episodes and recovered? I'm worried that this is chronic. She responded well with steroids. The first time they gave her winhro, she had a bad reaction.
Thank u

It doesn't matter if it's considered chronic or not. ITP can go into remission at any time no matter what the label is. Chronic just means that she has had ITP longer than a year; it doesn't mean she will have it for the rest of her life.

If she is responding to treatments, that is a good thing. Take it one day at a time.
