The healthcare reform legislation is a moving target and one that will surely affect everyone in the US. PDSA is adding our voice to joint initiatives to help make sure patients’ needs are taken into consideration.

Plasma User Coalition

PDSA and other members of the Plasma Users Coalition developed a set of principles to be considered in any healthcare legislation.   We continue to work with this group on other aspects of the legislation such as the definition of 'essential services,' as the new law is implemented.

Genetic Alliance Consensus Principles

PDSA joined more than 100 other organizations in signing the Healthcare Consensus Principles originally developed in meetings organized by the Genetic Alliance.

The first words of the document set the tone. “It is imperative that we engage in health reform, not just healthcare reform. In order for this transformation to be comprehensive, actionable, and sustainable, it must look at health as a continuum.”
